BBC 1967 - 1993 I joined the BBC in 1967 and attended a Technical Assistant Course at the BBC Engineering Training Department, Woodnorton, Evesham. In 1968 - April 1993 I was posted to Cardiff and worked in both Sound And Vision Maintenance Departments, Film processing and Telecine. I Subsequently returned to ETD to gain Grade C Engineering qualification. My duties at Engineering Grade included working in Telecine, Videotape and Vision control both in studio and on Outside Broadcasts. During my twenty-six years at Cardiff I worked on all types of Outside Broadcast programme - both regional and for the network. Sports OB's include rugby, cricket, The Grand National and golf. Being based in Wales, our output featured numerous musical events, often with the BBC Wales Orchestra and Chorus. Current affairs, elections, religious programmes and Royal events were also covered. On many occasions, I worked as a Vision Control Supervisor.
