Experience:
March 1963: Trained by the BBC at their School in Evesham and at Television Centre, White City.
November 1966: Joined the NZBC working as a studio cameraman in Auckland.
October 1968: Joined London Weekend TV, working in their studios and on O.B.'s. Upstairs Downstairs, Lillie, Budgie, Withing These Walls, On the Buses, Please Sir, Fenn Street Gang, Supersonic, The Big Match, World of Sport, Aquarius and The South Bank Show.
October 1975: Three month attachment as Lighting Director.
August 1980: Appointed Head of Cameras at LWT
December 1980: Founder member of E.N.G. Department. I lit and shot, amongst others; Weekend World, The London Programme, The 6 O'clock Show, South of Watford, The South Bank Show, The Big Match, Saint and Greavsie, Police 5, Eastern Eye
October 1985: Guild of TV Cameramen award..."Certificate of Merit for Leadership and Example...made in recognition of your outstanding contribution to the Art of the Television Cameraman"
July 1988: E.N.G. Dept becomes P.S.C. Dept, enabling Drama, Light Entertainment and Situation Comedy as well as Current Affairs and Sport to be shot on light-weight video.
May 1989: The first "Blind Date on video, heralding a continuing relationship with that programme and Surprise Surprise. Other programmes include: The Best of Blind Date,You Bet, The Blind Date Weddings, Beadle's About, Barrymore, The Goodlife Guide, Trading Places, Crime Monthly, World In Action, The Monarchy, This Morning and Des Res.
May 1997: I became a freelance Lighting Cameraman, shooting, amongst others,for Paradine Productions interviews between David Frost and HRH Prince Charles; David Frost and Paul McCartney; Through the Keyhole, fashion shoots and live links for Carlton's This Morning, See Hear, Party of a Lifetime and All Rise for Julian Clary for the BBC and Barrymore, the Royal Variety Programme and yet more Blind Date for LWT.
November 1997: Presented with the Lifetime Achievement Award by Guild of TV Cameramen.
1998: Confessions and Whatever you Want for Hat Trick. Through the Keyhole, Party of a Lifetime, Toonatics and Antiques Roadshow for BBC. Time Team Extra, Blind Date, Moment of Truth, London Programme and Stuff the Week for LWT.
